Integrated voltage detecting systems in accordance with IEC 62271-213 for determining the absence of voltage in railroad networks
The Wega is an integrated voltage detecting system. The device is used to determine and display the operating status of medium-voltage switchgear for 1-phase and 2-phase traction current systems in accordance with VDE 0105 Parts 1 and 100.
All four devices in the Wega series meet the requirements for voltage detection and indication systems (VDIS) in accordance with IEC 62271-213. The voltage detection systems are capacitively coupled to live parts. These devices combine state-of-the-art technology with proven quality to meet the requirements of the railroad industry.

The following medium voltage states are displayed:
| Voltage present | Switch-on threshold of the voltage display: 17 – 78 % x Un. Installation note: When operating the system with nominal voltage, the voltage signal is too low. This is usually caused by an excessively large balancing capacitor or by operating the switchgear at a lower nominal voltage than originally intended. |

The current flowing through the indicator fulfills the requirements for current monitoring according to IEC 61243-5 and IEC 62271-213. Due to the continuous monitoring, a repeat test is not necessary. |

Installation note: Voltage signal too high. This is usually caused by an undersized balancing capacitor, an earth fault or operation of the switchgear at a higher rated voltage than originally intended. |

The built-in display test function on the front allows the display to be tested when installed and de-energized. Shielded or unshielded cables with compact plugs (AMP) can be connected to the fault direction indicator.
