Highly accurate voltage monitoring

Voltage sensors are playing an increasingly important role in modern energy technology, especially in the field of medium-voltage switchgear. These sensors enable precise and safe measurement of electrical voltage without making direct galvanic contact with the main circuit. In contrast to conventional voltage transformers, modern voltage sensors are characterized by their compact design, high measuring accuracy and economic advantages.

Voltage sensors in local network substations fulfill several important functions for safe and efficient network operation:

Grid monitoring and power quality

  • Continuous monitoring of the voltage level to ensure compliance with the voltage band limits (±10% UN)
  • Detection of overvoltage and undervoltage
  • Monitoring the voltage symmetry between the phases
